Colonial Michilimackinac 1779: Established 1715
I still remember being a little girl and first exploring this treasure from our past. This 18th-century fort and fur trading village, steps back to 1779, during the American Revolution. Historical interpreters represent voyageurs, British soldiers, and French-Canadian merchant families, and are stationed throughout the fort to answer questions and perform demonstrations. Constructed on the shore of the Straits of Mackinac, enjoy stunning views of the Mackinac Bridge, the straits, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Strolling along the streets enjoying the beautiful landscaping, and stately Victorian homes, is such a pleasure. If you are a boat fan, a walk along the harbor will also be in your plans.
